Advise the driver of your destination when boarding the bus. If you need a transfer to continue your trip, be sure to ask for one when paying your fare. A Change Card will be issued if you are due more than $1 in change. This Change Card can be used on future GGT bus trips.

How to Determine Your Fare

Using the fare zone map at left and the applicable fare table (adult, youth, local, etc.) below, locate your FROM and TO travel zones to determine your one-way fare. For example, if you want to travel from San Rafael (Zone 3) to San Francisco (Zone 1), locate San Rafael (in the left-hand column of table) and then look horizontally across the table to where Zone 3 intersects Zone 1 (indicated with white background). Your one-way adult cash fare would be $5.05.

50% Discount Fare Eligibility

Seniors (65+)	50% off adult cash fare with a senior Clipper card (formerly TransLink), Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount Card, identification card from another California transit service, or Medicare card.
Persons with Disabilities:	50% off adult cash fare with DMV Disabled Placard ID Card, RTC Discount Card*, Medicare card, RTC/Clipper card (formerly TransLink), or identification card for persons with disabilities from another transit service.
Medicare Cardholders:	50% off adult cash fare.
Youth ages 6 to 18:	50% off adult cash fare.
Children 5 and under:	Children ages 5 and under travel free when accompanied by a full fare paying adult (limit two youth per adult).

* RTC Discount Cards are issued by calling Whistlestop Wheels at
415/456-9062 (Monday-Thursday, 10 am-3 pm) or Golden Gate Transit at
415/257-4407 (call to make an appointment).

Muir Woods

Round trip fares are collected in the westbound direction traveling to Muir Woods. A Shuttle Pass is issued when you pay your fare. Please retain this Pass and present it to the driver on your return trip. No one-way fares are available. Shuttle Passes are valid only on the day of purchase. Fare may be paid by cash (exact change required), Value Cards, or Marin Transit Passes. Clipper card (formerly TransLink), tickets, or transfers are not accepted on Route 66. Click for complete details, including schedules and maps. NOTE: Muir Woods Shuttle service is seasonal, generally operating weekends and holidays only from May through September.

Golden Gate Transit Discount Fares

These fares represent a 20% discount off the adult cash fare for intercounty travel (10% when traveling within Marin) and are valid when using a Marin Transit Value Card or Clipper card (formerly TransLink). See NOTE about Value Cards below.

NOTE: Effective July 31, 2010, $25, $50 and $75 Value Cards will no longer be accepted on Golden Gate Transit. You must use Clipper (formerly TransLink) to receive the discounted fare. Marin Transit local $18 and $36 Value Cards will continue to be available as well as Marin Transit Local Period Passes (daily, 7-day and 31-day passes); these cards and passes are good only for travel solely within Marin County.

Marin Transit Period Passes: 1-Day, 7-Day, and 31-Day Marin Local Bus Service

Marin Transit offers Daily, Weekly (7-day), and Monthly (31-day) Passes for unlimited rides within the given time period. The 1-Day pass can only be purchased on buses, and the 7-Day and 31-Day passes can be purchased online or at several local vendors.
