Value Cards

Read more about GGT's new fareboxes and Value Cards.

Please note: Effective June 30, 2010, Golden Gate Transit will be eliminating $25, $50, and $75 Value Cards. To ensure customers have time to use the value on their cards, we will continue to accept these Value Cards through July 31, 2010. After that time, customers must use TransLink to receive the discounted fare. We will continue to sell Marin Local Value Cards in denominations of $18 and $36 and Marin Local Period Passes (7-Day and 31-Day Passes). These Marin Local Value Cards and Passes are good only for travel within Marin County.

Value Cards provide a discount off the cash fare when riding Golden Gate Transit bus – 20% "ride value" (same as our old ticket program), 50% youth/senior/disabled, 10% Marin local. Please note: Value Cards do not offer any discount for travel strictly within Sonoma or San Francisco counties.

Value Cards come in 5 denominations – $18, $25, $36, $50 and $75 – and are valid for six months from the date of first use. Please note: the $18 and $36 Value Cards are useable for local bus travel within Marin County only. Value Cards are nonrefundable and not exchangeable, should be kept clean and dry, and should not be folded, scratched, torn, written on or laminated. Customers can get these same discounts when using TransLink.

GGT's service area is divided into geographic fare zones. Fare zones provide the means for determining fare based on distance traveled and cost of service.
