 MCTD ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY

OF REVISED SHORT RANGE TRANSIT PLAN FOR PUBLIC REVIEW

Public Hearing Set for March 20, 2006 at 9 am

The Marin County Transit District is pleased to announce that the revised Short Range Transit Plan is now available for review.  The plan was revised based on extensive public comments received at nine public meetings and numerous phone calls, letters, and emails.  Major changes include adding a pilot costal route extension on the Southern Stage, adding a description of interim service in the Novato area, and retention of service on Alameda del Prado.

You can download the plan from www.marintransit.org or email info@marintransit.org  to request a free CD or a hard copy for $16 for printing cost.

MCTD encourages the public to attend a special board hearing for the Short Range Transit Plan on March 20, 2006 at 9:00 am in the Marin Civic Center, Board of Supervisors' Chambers (on the 3rd floor).  Final comments on the plan will be received and the Board will adopt the revised plan.

The public is also invited to participate in a public outreach process in April and May 2006 for adoption of the service plan outlined in the Short Range Transit Plan.  MCTD hopes to start implementing service changes in September 2006.
